How to check-in patients

Check-in patient means to mark on the schedule that patient has arrived in the office and is waiting for his/her appointment. This function is performed by the front desk and also include getting some forms filled out and signed by the patient

?        As the patient walks into the office, front desk will provide patient with sign-in sheet

?        After the patient enter his/her name on the sign-in sheet, user can search for the patient appointment in the schedule

?        To search for an appointment, simply enter the name of the patient in the search text box in the “Schedule screen icon bar” and click on the magnifying glass icon next to the text box

?        System will highlight the appointment with flashing colors for that patient

?        In order for the search feature to work properly, you must not have already selected any appointment slot

?        If you have selected some appointment slot for any reason and run the search we will get the message “Not found”.

?        To make sure you have not selected any appointment slot before searching, you can reload the schedule screen by pressing F5 or click on refresh icon in your browser

?        If you see an appointment selected, you can un-select it by simply a single click on it.

?        When you search for an appointment, system will flash the appointment slot and select it, if you want to redo the search simply single click on the appointment selected to un-select it and then start typing again in the search text box

?        Front desk can check-in patient from the schedules screen or also from their dashboard

?        Let us first discuss the process from the schedule screen

?        Double click on the appointment for patient you want to check-in

?        This will open a new window, check the box next to “Check in”

?        Next you need to click on “Update”

?        System will change the appointment status as “Checked-in” and will prompt you to print documents for the patient needed for that visit

?        You will see a red Astrix next to patient name on the appointment slot, marking the appointment as checked in and waiting to be called in
